Area of Specialization: Probability Theory/Stochastic Processes
Motivation: One of my early mentors was my late father - a veteran teacher who encouraged me to study Mathematics a course I've come to so love. I am fascinated by the intrinsic powers of mathematics to solve various complex problems and the fact that it gives a precise and concise way of expressing ideas.
Area of Specialization: I am currently a 400l student studying Industrial Mathematics at Federal University Of Technology Minna, Niger State
Motivation: I have passion for mathematics and I love to study it and teach it as well. My late Father was a mathematics lecturer likewise my elder brother so I guess you could say it runs in the family.
Area of Specialization: Mathematical modelling
Motivation: The joy that comes with finding the unknown x made mathematics the only alternative choice to my dreamed course due to relocation. I have no regrets because my choice of mathematics is actually fulfilling and have yielded many positive results in practical term.
Area of Specialization: Differential Equations (Stochastic differential equations and Ordinary differential equations)
Motivation: I studied Mathematics because I had great passion for Mathematics and I wanted to develop my problem solving and logical reasoning skills. It was my best subject during my primary and secondary education.
Area of Specialization: Complex analysis
Motivation: I have always enjoyed mathematics ever since I was a child and I was fortunate enough to be groomed rightly by great teachers and mathematicians. Mathematics has helped me develop patience and persistence in problem-solving and day to day life.
Area of Specialization: Mathematical Modelling
Motivation: Motivation to study Mathematics is borne out of the passion I have for calculations when I was growing up and the joy it gives me when I am able to find solutions to a difficult Mathematical problem without anybody’s assistance. My aspiration is to get to that level where I can develop Mathematical model equations that can solve real life problems.
Area of Specialization: Applied Mathematics/Space Dynamics
Motivation: Growing up, I liked calculations and my aspiration is to contribute my own quota in putting an end to the mathematics phobia of many young people through participatory teaching and using the simplest possible methods.
Area of Specialization: Functional Analysis / Optimization
Motivation: I have always been good with figures(called computer brain since childhood) and i love assembling things so i wanted to study Electronics & Computer Engineering with Maths Option. Unfortunately for me, I was not lucky with OAU admission so i settled for full Mathematics in LASU and i did well.
Area of Specialization: Mathematical inequalities
Motivation: I reasoned that everything around me is Mathematics, hence chose to study its language, which had built my analytical mind and logical reasoning. Eventually as a Mathematician, I find it fulfilling in relationship with the subject that is regarded as the queen of science.
Area of Specialization: Numerical Analysis (Applied Mathematics)
Motivation: I love mathematics and it's one of my life passion; it is what drives my intellectual pursuit. Mathematics is a tool that is used in driving country’s growth and development and practicing mathematics makes me a goal getter and a country builder.
Area of Specialization: Mathematical Optimization
Motivation: I have the passion for Mathematics from my primary school days, because then we normally partake in mental Maths immediately after the morning assembly. So I grew up to love Mathematics. I was not opportune to study mathematics at first, I read Biochemistry to HND level but after marriage and I was thinking of furthering my studies in biochemistry but my husband encouraged me to go for direct entry in Mathematics because he saw in me a genus in Mathematics not in Biochemistry even though I had distinction in biochemistry and today I am enjoying mathematics because I can model and compute biochemical data easily. (Presently I am rounding up my PhD in Mathematics).
